Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION: Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
CAUTION:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without damaging the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console upper garnish (A).

    Information 

    Insert a flat head screwdriver between the console upper garnish and heater control to remove the console upper cover.

  2. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the console lower garnish (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    2.0 - 2.9 N.m (0.2 - 0.3 kgf-m, 1.4 - 2.2 lb.ft, 17.4 - 26.0 lb.in)

  3. Remove the gear knob & boots (A) by pulling it upwards.

  4. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console upper cover (A).

    Information 

    Hold the rear of console upper cover and remove it by lifting off while rotating upward.

  5. Disconnect the connectors (A).

  6. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console side cover (A).

  7. Remove the storage box pad (A).

  8. After loosening the mounting screws and bolts, remove the floor console assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 9.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.0 - 7.2 lb.ft, 60.8 - 86.8 lb.in)

  9. Separate the console main connector (A).

  10. To install, reinstall in reverse order of removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure the connector is connected properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
