Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector (A).

  3. Separate the brake tube (A) from the master cylinder by loosening the tube flare nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    ABS:  12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb.ft)

    ESC:  18.6 - 22.6 N.m (1.9 - 2.3 kgf.m, 13.7 - 16.6 lb.ft)

  4. Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.

    NOTE: Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle as it may damage the paint. If brake fluid comes in contact with the paint, wash off immediately with water.
  5. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")

  6. Loosen the brake tube flare nut (A), and then remove the brake hose clip (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb.ft)

  7. Disconnect the brake hose bracket (A) by loosening the bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)

  8. Remove the brake hose (A) from the brake caliper by loosening the bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    24.5 - 29.4 N.m (2.5 - 3.0 kgf.m, 18.1 - 21.7 lb.ft)

  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Use a new washers (A) whenever installing.

  10. After installation, bleed the brake system.

    (Refer to Brake system - "BRAKE BLEEDING PROCEDURES ")

  11. Check and clean any spilled brake fluid.
