Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")

  2. Loosen the guide rod bolt (A) and then pivot the caliper body (B) up out of the way.

    Tightening torque: 

    21.6 - 31.4 N.m (2.2 - 3.2 kgf.m, 15.9 - 23.1 lb.ft)

  3. Remove the pad return springs (A).

  4. Remove the brake pads (A).

  5. Remove the caliper carrier (B) by loosening the bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    83.4 - 98.1 N.m (8.5 - 10.0 kgf.m, 61.5 - 72.3 lb.ft)

    NOTE: Fix the caliper assembly with a wire.
  6. Remove the brake disc (A) after loosening the screws.

    Tightening torque: 

    4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb.ft, 43.4 - 52.1 lb.in)
