System Operating Mode
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Kia Sorento. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- When starting the engine with the switch OFF, OFF mode is ON.
* The systems can be separately controlled based on each activation condition. For example, BSD & LCA systems are turned ON by BSD switch button and RCTA system is turned ON by RCTA USM switch.
- When pressing ON switch in OFF mode, Passive mode is ON.
- If starting the engine with the switch OFF, Passive mode is ON.
* When IGN is ON, the switch is in the initial state: The last position is kept.
- If IGN OFF -> ON with the switch ON, the switch is ON.
- If IGN OFF -> ON with the switch OFF, the switch is OFF.
- If engine is started during BSD switch ON state or if BSD & LCA are turned on during BSD switch OFF state, the warning lamp of the door mirror turns on for 3 seconds.
- If the activation conditions (speed and curvature radius) are met while driving, Active mode is ON (warning issued).
- If the activation conditions (speed or curvature radius) are not met while driving, Passive mode is ON (warning suppressed).
- Depending on the detected errors, BSD & LCA system (including RCTA system) becomes Fail mode.
- If the detected error is lifted, BSD & LCA systems (including RCTA system) change to the last mode before Fail mode.
- If pressing OFF switch while the system is running, the system becomes OFF mode.
* Since the systems are controlled separately, only BSD & LCA systems become OFF mode when pressing BSD switch OFF. And only RCTA system becomes OFF mode when choosing RCTA USM OFF.
