Repair Procedures: Replacement
CAUTION:
Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
Information
- When removing with a flat - tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Remove the cowl top cover.

- Remove the front wiper motor.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "FRONT WIPER MOTOR ")
- Remove the main crash pad assembly.
(Refer to Crash Pad - "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")
- Down the steering column after loosening the mounting bolts.
(Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")
- Loosen the cowl cross member mounting bolts.
- Disconnect the connector (A) and the mounting wiring fasteners in the front pillar.

- Disconnect the passenger compartment junction box connectors (A).
- Disconnect the multi box connectors (A).

- Disconnect the mode actuator connector (A).
- Disconnect the driver's temperature actuator connector (A).
- Remove the photo sensor wiring mounting clip (A).
- Disconnect the passenger's temperature actuator connector (A), power mosfet connector (B) and evaporator temperature sensor connector (C).
- Disconnect the auto defogging actuator connector (A).
- Disconnect the intake actuator connector (A).
- Disconnect the blower motor connector (A).
- Disconnect the IBU connector (A).
- Loosen the nut and then separate the center console duct (A).
- Disconnect the airbag control module (SRSCM) connector (A).
- Disconnect the blower motor connector (A) and mounting clip (B).
- Remove the cowl cross bar mounting bolt caps (A).
- After loosening the bolts and nuts, then remove the cowl cross bar assembly (A).
- Remove the main wiring harness from the cowl cross bar.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Information
- Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
- Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
- Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
- Replace any damaged clips (or pin - type retainers).
