SERVICE INFORMATION

This bulletin provides the procedure to relocate the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) blower motor 40-ampere fuse on certain 2021-2022MY K5 (DL3a) vehicles produced from February 23, 2021 through May 3, 2021 that were originally sold in one of the 7 high-heat states (AZ, FL, HI, LA, MS, NV, and TX). The HVAC system provides cooling and heating to help maintain a comfortable environment inside the vehicle. The blower motor provides primary airflow for the HVAC system. Extended use of the HVAC at high fan speeds may cause damage to the multi-fuse terminals for the HVAC blower motor circuit, which can cause the blower motor to become inoperative, resulting in reduced heat and air conditioning. Follow the procedure outlined in this publication to relocate the HVAC blower motor 40-ampere fuse to another circuit within the multi-fuse which has an increased terminal width on the applicable vehicle. Before conducting the procedure, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.

NOTE: NOT all  K5 (DL3a) vehicles produced within the specified production date range are affected by this service campaign.)
NOTE: Repair status for a VIN is provided on KDealer+ (Service → Warranty Coverage → Warranty Coverage Inquiry → Campaign Information). Not completed Recall/Service Action reports are available on KDealer+ (Consumer Affairs → Not Completed Recall → Recall VIN → Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.
