System Inspection
Inspection Procedure
□ Inspect whether to leak air or stuck
- Inspect a contamination, gasket and installation
- Damaged or installation of throttle body
- Damaged or installation of intake manifold and gasket which is installed in surge tank
- Contamination and stuck in intake manifold
- Contamination between surge tank and PCSV and stuck open
- Damaged or contamination of HO2S (up)
- Visual check leak a catalyst and a exhaust system of HO2S (down)
□ Inspection sensor
- Check a installation of HO2S, connector connection, damaged wire and ECM.
- Check a HO2S silicon contamination that check whether it is to dredge the sensor with white flour. Also, an data would be abnormal.
- Check a HO2S contamination (Flowing in fuel, coolant or engine oil)
- Check a intake air flow sensor contamination or poor performance, connection and wiring.
- Start a engine and check that both throttle position sensor and pedal sensor data would be increased.
- Check a ECM ground.
□ Inspection of fuel line
- Check whether a fuel filer would be stuck or not.
- Check a fuel level.
- Check whether leak a low pressure fuel or it is stuck.
- Measure a fuel pressure in idle after installing a fuel pressure measurement gauge.
- Specification: Fuel Pressure: 480 to 520kPa (4.9 to 5.3kgf/cm2 , 69.6 to 75.4psi)
□ Inspection of injector
- Measure a resistance injector
- MPI injector specification: Approx. 11.4 to 12.6Ω (20°C (68°F))
- GDI injector specification: Approx. 1.425 to 1.575Ω (20°C (68°F))
□ Inspection of engine pressure
- Engine coolant temperature could be became between 80 and 95°C (176°F and 203°F) after starting a engine and stop.
- Disconnect an injector extension connector and an ignition coil connector.
- Disconnect an ignition coil and an ignition plug.
- Install a pressure gauge to ignition plug hole.
- A throttle valve is full opened.
- Measure a pressure after cranking at least 20 times.
- Normal Value:
Specification: 13.0kgf/cm2 (200 to 250rpm)
Limitation: 11.5kgf/cm2
Deviation each one cylinder pressure: Below 1.0kg/cm2
Good
- Check for engine coolant loss. If there is a large loss of coolant, check the condition of the engine block, cylinder head or cylinder head gasket for damage.
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
No Good
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
