Repair Procedures: Removal
[LH]
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the tail gate trim [LH].
(Refer to Body - "TAIL GATE TRIM ")
- Disconnect the STG spindle connector (A).
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the bracket (B) mounting bolts after lifting the socket clips (A) up slightly.
- Remove the STG spindle assembly (C).
Tightening torque:
6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)
CAUTION:
- Work in a group of two or more when removing and installing the STG spindle.
- Take care not to close the tail gate while the STG spindle is removed.
[RH]
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the luggage side trim [RH].
(Refer to Body - "LUGGAGE SIDE TRIM ")
- Remove the tail gate trim [RH].
(Refer to Body - "TAIL GATE TRIM ")
- Pull up the bottom of rear A/C duct (A).
- Remove the third row seat belt upper anchor (A) after loosening the bolt.
Tightening torque:
39.2 ~ 53.9 N.m (4.0 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 39.8 lb-ft)
- Loosen the mounting bolt (A).
- Remove the rear A/C duct (A) after loosening the bolt.
- Disconnect the STG spindle connector (A).
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the bracket (B) mounting bolts after lifting the socket clips (A) up slightly.
- Remove the STG spindle assembly (C).
Tightening torque:
6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)
CAUTION:
- Work in a group of two or more when removing and installing the STG spindle.
- Take care not to close the tail gate while the STG spindle is removed.
