DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

DTC Strategy
  • Determines if the oil temperature value is rational, compared to coolant and intake air temperature
  • Faulty OTS
Case 1 Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
  • Difference between highest and lowest modeled oil temperature is greater than 30~100°C (86 ~212°F)
  • Engine Coolant temperature (ECT) or modeled Engine Coolant temperature is greater than 90°C (194°F)
  • Engine Coolant temperature (ECT) at engine start is lower than 53.25° C (127.85°F)
Threshold Value
  • Difference between highest and lowest measured oil temperature is lower than 2~35°C (35.6~95°F)
  • Sensor signal is stuck in range
Diagnosis Time
  • ~13m depending on start temperature
Case 2 Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
  • Engine Coolant temperature (ECT) at engine start is less than 40°C (104°F)
  • Modeled oil temperature is greater than 70°C (158°F)
Threshold Value
  • Engine Oil temperature (EOT) is lower than 20°C (68°F)
  • Sensor signal is implausibly low
Diagnosis Time
  • 15s
Case 3 Enable Condition
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
  • Engine Coolant temperature (ECT) is lower than 70°C (158°F)
Threshold Value
  • Engine Oil temperature (EOT) is greater than 100°C (212°F)
  • Sensor signal is implausibly high
Diagnosis Time
  • 15s
Case 4 Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V
  • Engine Stop time is more than 480m
  • ECT decrease in 15s after engine start is less than 2°C (35.6°F)
Threshold Value
  • Deviation between EOT and 3 other temperature sensors (ECT, AAT, IAT) is greater than 20°C (68°F) and
  • Deviation among other temperature sensors (ECT, AAT, IAT) is lower than 20°C (68°F)

  • Immediately
MIL On Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
