Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    (Refer to Charging System - " AUXILIARY BATTERY  ") 

  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Disconnect the RCV hose (A) and breather hose (B).

  4. Remove the intake hose (A) after releasing the clamps.

    Tightening torque: 

    4.9 - 6.8 N.m (0.5 - 0.7 kgf.m, 3.7 - 5.0 lb.ft, 43.4 - 60.7 lb.in)

  5. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (A).

    NOTE: When removing the ignition coil connector, pull the lock pin (A) and push the clip (B).

  6. Remove the ignition coil (A) after removing mounting bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 13.3 - 16.0 lb.ft)
