Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Disconnect the alternator connector (A).
  3. Disconnect the alternator "B" terminal (B) after loosening the mounting nut.

  4. Remove the drive belt.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT ")

  5. Remove the idler.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "IDLER ")

  6. Remove the alternator upper mounting bolt (A).

    Alternator upper mounting bolt: 

    29.4 - 41.2 N.m (3.0 - 4.2 kgf.m, 21.7 - 30.4 Ib.ft)

  7. Remove the alternator mounting bracket (A) after loosening the lower mounting bolts (B).

    Alternator bracket & lower mounting bolt: 

    21.6 - 32.4 N.m (2.2 - 3.3 kgf.m, 15.9 - 23.9 Ib.ft)

  8. Remove the alternator (A).
