  1. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA):

This is a driving safety system that warns the driver of danger and assists in braking the vehicle for the purpose of assisting in preventing collision with forward obstacles while driving. The FCA detects the relative position/speed of the front obstacle (vehicle/pedestrian/cyclist) by using the front view camera and the front radar. When a collision with the front obstacle is expected, the FCA warns the driver by giving a visual/audible warning and assist braking to avoid any collision.

The driver should always keep an eye on the front traffic conditions for safety in case of the front view camera/front radar may not detect obstacles normally.

    1. When the FCA camera only is applied: It responds to the vehicle/pedestrian and a brake command is transmitted from the front camera.
    2. When the FCA sensor fusion (both Camera and Radar) is applied: It responds to the vehicle/pedestrian/cyclist/JT (Junction Turning) and transmits the recognition information to the front radar.

Forward Collision-avoidance Assist-Junction Turning (FCA-JT): Assist in preventing a collision with a large vehicle approaching from the opposite side when turning left at a junction by warning and braking.

  2. Smart Cruise Control (SCC):

The smart cruise control system allows a driver to program the vehicle to control the speed and following distance. The SCC system detects the vehicle ahead without depressing the brake or accelerator pedal.

  3. Highway Driving Assist (HDA):

The HDA is a driving comfort system that controls the steering/acceleration/deceleration by setting the vehicle speed and the safe distance from the vehicle in front, and also by maintaining the vehicle's position in the center of the lane for the purpose of reducing driving effort while driving on an expressway or a freeway. The HDA controls the steering and acceleration/deceleration to keep the vehicle driving in the center of the lane and maintain the safe distance from the front driving vehicle, considering the distance and speed by front view camera/radar recognized when the driver set the speed. HDA is cancelled when the driver presses the CANCEL switch or depresses the brake pedal. It gives a visual/audible warning when HDA considers the driver doesn't hold the steering wheel for more than a certain amount of time and if it determines the driver continues not to hold the steering wheel, it is cancelled automatically.
