Electronic Traction Control (Etc)

ETC is automatically enabled at speeds up to 62 MPH when braking is not occurring. ETC can operate brakes individually or in pairs. At speeds up to 31 MPH, ECT uses individual brake intervention to maintain even torque distribution between wheels on the same axle. At speeds up to 62 MPH, ETC can use brake intervention in axle pairs to maintain even torque distribution between front and rear axles. In effect, this mode of operation replaces the center differential lock of the transfer box which is non-operational during normal driving conditions. If center differential lock is in locked position, SLABS ECU will turn on ABS and ETC warning lights and inhibit ETC functions. ABS, EBD and HDC functions are retained, but at degraded performance levels. During hard cornering, ETC operation is desensitized.
