Abs Electronic Control Unit
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Land Rover Range Rover and 1999 Land Rover Range Rover. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls, monitors and provides failure diagnostics for Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Traction Control (ETC) systems. In addition to ABS and ETC system control, the ABS ECU uses wheel speed sensor input to generate a digital road speed signal which it sends it to the Body Electric Control Module (BECM) and a rough road signal which it sends to the Engine Control Module (V8 engines only). The ABS ECU is located on the passenger-side dash board, behind an access plate. The ABS ECU is not serviceable and is connected to the ABS electrical harness by 9-pin, 15-pin and 18-pin connectors.
