SITUATION:
OCCASIONAL MIS-LOCK WITH REMOTE PLIP
The customer may complain that from time to time the vehicle will not lock with the first press of the plip button. A second attempt will successfully lock the vehicle after waiting 10 seconds.
RESOLUTION:
REPLACE REMOTE PLIP WITH NEW DESIGN
A new plip with upgraded software has been introduced into production. Ordering a new coded plip will resolve the problem for the customer

Refer to Coded Parts Order Form on InfoTrail. Complete keys/heads ordered will contain the new configuration plip also.

Material allowance is included in labor operation.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
CHECK AND REPLACE ALARM REMOTE
- Verify plip complaint symptoms as follows:
- Customer presses the plip LOCK button and determines that the car failed to lock.
- After 10 seconds the lock button is pressed again.
- If the car will lock normally the second time the fault is in the Alarm key plip.NOTE: Refer to Parts Bulletin PGI01-12 and ensure the order is placed following the procedures outlined using the forms found on InfoTrail.
- Place an order for a new plip.
- Upon receipt refer to Service Bulletin STE01-08 and install the plip (STC4806B) onto the existing key blade (Fig 1 ).
