LAND ROVER: LR3, LR4, New Range Rover, Range Rover Sport
CATEGORY: Diagnostic Software Hardware
SYMPTOM: 000101 Diagnostic Concerns

ISSUE

Service Diagnostics are receiving a number of reports of new CJB Central Junction Box  configuration failure, with an error message "Failed to write TID Target Identification"  displayed on SDD.

CAUSE

The concern lies with the VCM interface device loosing communication during the CJB Central Junction Box  immobilisation security routine.

ACTION

If you are experiencing the error detailed and it is necessary to configure a new CJB Central Junction Box  , please follow the work around to complete new module configuration successfully.

  1. Connect SDD to the vehicle and carry out a Data collect as usual (Next Screen after the VIN entry page with blue progress bar).
  2. Select the relevant symptoms for the vehicle concern to populate the recommendations tab.
  3. Replace the CJB Central Junction Box  with the new component.
  4. Run Configure New Modules - Body Control Module  from the recommendations tab or launch from the Extras Tab.
  5. SDD will prompt for user to answer the qualifier "Has the module been replaced"  - The user must select the red 'X'.
  6. SDD will inhale all relevant data required for programming.
  7. SDD will prompt to replace the module - The user will leave the new module fitted and click the green tick to continue. SDD will now exhale data to the new module.
  8. Continue with Configure New Modules - Body Control Module  as usual until the application reports successfully completed.

The workaround can be used as an alternative until the fix has been released on a future software release.
