SYMPTOM

304000 Suspension System

Issue:

A Customer may report the air suspension warning lamp illuminated. DTC C1A36-01 Exhaust Valve - General Electrical Failure may also be present. 10, 11 and 12 Model year only. Vehicles fitted with an AMK compressor only.

Cause:

Supplier quality concern affecting the compressor exhaust valve.

CONTENT

Action:

All parts found at Caterpillar have been re-worked and can be identified by a white dot as per the photo below. All new parts with a date code showing the year 2012 will not be affected by this issue. The photo below gives date code location.

All parts currently in market are deemed low risk and should be used as required.

NOTE: Returned compressors from various markets have shown damage to the compressor quick fit connectors. Please ensure that any returned parts are removed and packaged correctly to minimize the risk of damage. Example photo of a typical damaged compressor is below.
