CONDITION SUMMARY
SITUATION:
The Auto Stop/Start system may be inoperative.
CAUSE:
This may be because the Auto Stop/Start system can only be robustly diagnosed, starting with the health check application, using the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic system which will indicate the cause of any faults.
ACTION:
Should a customer express this concern, follow the Diagnostic Procedure outlined below.

- The JLR Claims Submission System requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE: SDD
This Diagnostic Procedure is only for vehicles requiring the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool with Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD).
CAUTION:
- A Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis / module programming.
- All ignition ON/OFF requests must be carried out. Failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle.
- The causal part number will vary depending on the findings of the Diagnostic Procedure. Make sure the relevant causal part number is claimed based on the test results.
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery.

NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool must be loaded with DVD151.04 Calibration File 282 (or later).
Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle and begin a new session.
- Follow the on-screen prompts, allowing the diagnostic tool to read the VIN, identify the vehicle, and initiating the data collect sequence.NOTE: The battery power supply must be disconnected from the vehicle battery.
- If the hyperlink is not available:
- Select Diagnosis from the Session Type screen.
- Select the Selected Symptoms tab.
- Select one of the following symptoms:
- Powertrain - Engine system - Starting system - Start-stop system - Inoperative
- Select continue
- Select the Recommendations tab.
- Select Run to perform the 'Powertrain - Auto stop/start system - Health check' option.
- Follow all on-screen instructions until the application completes successfully.
- When all tasks are complete, go to the next Step.
- Exit the current session.
- Select the Session tab.
- Select the Close Session option.
- Disconnect the diagnostic tool and battery power supply from the vehicle.
