ISSUE
A customer may report that a low battery warning message is displayed on the Instrument Cluster and Eco Stop start unavailable.
ROOT CAUSE
The Battery Monitoring System (BMS) clamp is not correctly positioned on the main battery terminal post.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
Carefully loosen and disconnect BMS clamp from battery pole. Fully loosen clamp and ensure jaws of clamp are fully open. Do not use any tools or implements to lever the BMS from the battery pole as this may damage the internal circuitry of the BMS. Replace clamp over battery pole, ensuring the top of clamp is level with or lower than top of battery pole. Secure the bolt to a 6Nm as specified in Topix. Using Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) reset the BMS. Carry out a battery test using the EXP-1080, following the on screen instructions and results. Ensure the battery is fully charged and re-assess the vehicle concern.
