Removal & Installation: Engine: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure drive shaft flange reference marks are aligned. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  2. Adjust control cables. Fill crankcase with engine oil. Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn height control switch (if equipped) to ON position after vehicle is lowered.
CAUTION: Ensure crossmember located below transmission is installed with front mark arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Front mark arrow is located in center of crossmember, on bottom side of crossmember. Install center bearing so bracket on center bearing is parallel to drive shaft.
WARNING: To prevent air bag deployment, disconnect negative battery cable at least 20 seconds before working on vehicle.

  2. Adjust control cables. Fill crankcase with engine oil. Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
CAUTION: Ensure crossmember located below transmission is installed with front mark arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Front mark arrow is located in center of crossmember, on bottom side of crossmember. Install center bearing so bracket on center bearing is parallel to drive shaft.
