Warning Light Stays On
- Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on, then start engine immediately (do not wait more than 15 seconds). If warning light does not go out (or if it goes out momentarily, then comes back on), go to step 3).
- If warning light goes out, turn engine off. Disconnect 3-wire electrical connector from alternator. Start engine. If warning light does not come on, repair or replace alternator or its circuit. If warning light does not come on, repair wiring harness.
- Check for fault in circuit between instrument cluster and oil level switch, and between oil level switch and ground. If circuit is okay, replace oil level switch.
