A/C Idle-Up Valve

Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect electrical connector and hoses from A/C idle-up valve. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS under INTRODUCTION. See Fig 1. Remove A/C idle-up valve. Replace A/C idle-up valve if it does not operate as follows.
- Resistance across terminals is 30-33 ohms at 68°F (20°C).
- There is no continuity between VSV case (ground) each terminal of VSV (this checks for an internal short).
- Blow through port "E". See Fig 1. Air does NOT come out of port "F".
- Apply battery voltage across terminals. Blow through port "E". Air comes out of port "F".
