Test 7, Park/Neutral Position Switch

  1. Ensure starting system is operating normally. Disconnect CC ECU connector. See Figure. Set shift lever to "P" or "N" position. Check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 2. See Figure. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair open in wiring harness between CC ECU terminal No. 2 and park/neutral position switch.
  2. Set shift lever to "L", 2, 3, or "R" position. Again, check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 2. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair short in wiring harness between CC ECU connector terminal No. 2 and park/neutral position switch. If continuity exists, replace CC ECU and recheck system operation.
