Test Drive Confirmation

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) No. 3. See Figure. If using OBD-II scan tool, go to next step. If using Lexus scan tool, switch to CHECK mode. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at 31-40 MPH for 1-3 minutes. Stop vehicle and allow engine to idle for one minute. If malfunction exists, MIL will illuminate.
  2. If using OBD-II scan tool, start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at 31-40 MPH for 1-3 minutes. Stop vehicle and allow engine to idle for one minute. Turn ignition off. Repeat driving and idle part of test. If malfunction exists, MIL will illuminate.
