Anti-Theft System: Description

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

When anti-theft system is set (armed), system will lock all doors, flash headlights and taillights, and sounds alarm if one of the following conditions occurs. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 :

Door, trunk lid or hood is forcibly opened.
Battery cable is disconnected, then reconnected.
System receives panic signal from keyless entry system.
