Park/Neutral Position Switch Circuit Test
NOTE:
If power seat ECU senses that transmission is not in Park, it prevents seat from being moved to memorized position.
- If shift indicator light for Park position does not come on when transmission is in Park, repair indicator light circuit before continuing. See INSTRUMENT PANELS article. At driver's seat, remove bolts for front vertical adjuster. Lift front end of seat cushion slightly for access to power seat ECU.
- Remove power seat ECU, but leave wiring harness connectors attached. Measure voltage between ground and power seat ECU connector "B", terminal No. 21 (Green/White wire). See Figure.
- With transmission in Park, battery voltage should exist. With transmission in any other position, voltage should not exist. If voltage is okay, see next test listed in SYSTEM TESTS INDEX table. If voltage is not as specified, repair Green/White wire between power seat ECU and park/neutral position switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
