Power Seat Switch Circuit Test

  1. Connect Lexus Hand-Held Tester (scan tool) to Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3). Put scan tool in ACTIVE mode. Check switch status while operating power seat switch. If switch status does not change on scan tool, or scan tool is not available, go to next step. If switch status changes on scan tool and motor operates normally, system is okay. If switch status changes on scan tool, but motor does not operate, check circuits between ECU and motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace ECU.
  2. Check power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If switch is okay, check circuits between ECU and switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If wiring and switch are okay, replace ECU.
