Section 30 (Thermostat): Installation

  1. PLACE THERMOSTAT IN WATER INLET. 
    1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat.
    2. Align the jiggle valve of the thermostat with the protrusion of the water inlet.

  2. INSTALL WATER INLET.  Install the water inlet with the 2 nuts.
    1. Torque:  9.0 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 80 in. lbf)
  3. FILL WITH ENGINE COOLANT. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING in COOLING SYSTEM MECHANICAL. 
  4. START ENGINE AND CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS.
