Shoulder Belt Anchor Motor Circuit

NOTE: If LEXUS scan tool is available, start test from step 1). If this scan tool is not available, start test from step 2).
  1. Connect LEXUS scan tool to Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3) located under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition and scan tool on. Select ACTIVE TEST mode on scan tool. Using scan tool, move shoulder belt anchor up and down. If belt slider does not move, go to next step. If belt slider moves, go to next test listed in SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  table under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Disconnect 6-pin shoulder belt anchor motor harness connector. Connect battery positive lead to terminal No. 4 (Brown wire) and battery negative lead to terminal No. 1 (Blue/White wire) at shoulder belt anchor motor harness connector. See Fig 1. Shoulder belt slider should move upward. Connect battery positive lead to terminal No. 1 (Blue/White wire) and battery negative lead to terminal No. 4 (Brown wire). Reverse polarity at shoulder belt anchor motor harness connector. Shoulder belt slider should move downward. If shoulder belt anchor motor operates as specified, go to next step. If shoulder belt anchor motor does not operate as specified, replace shoulder belt anchor motor and retest system operation.
  3. Check wiring harness and connectors between tilt and telescopic ECU and shoulder belt anchor motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. If wiring harness and connectors are okay, check tilt and telescopic ECU. See TILT & TELESCOPIC ECU PIN VOLTAGE TESTS  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace tilt and telescopic ECU as necessary and retest system operation.
