Door Lock Motor Circuit

  1. Listen for operating sound of door lock motor with door lock control switch in LOCK and UNLOCK positions. If noise is heard, door lock motor is operating. If noise is not heard, remove door trim panel and service hole cover. Check for faulty door lock linkage. If linkage is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect 6-pin electrical connector from door lock motor. Connect positive battery lead to door lock motor connector (component side) terminal No. 2 (Blue/White wire on left door; Red wire on right door) and negative battery lead to terminal No. 5 (Blue/Red wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Door lock link should move to unlock position. Reverse battery leads (polarity). Door lock link should move to lock position. If door lock motor does not operate as specified, go to next step. If door lock motor operates as specified, replace door lock motor.
  3. Check circuits for faults between door lock motor and anti-theft/door lock control ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. If circuits are okay, go to next test listed in appropriate SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS table under TROUBLE SHOOTING .
