A/C System Performance

Park vehicle out of direct sunlight. Connect manifold gauge set. Start engine and allow to idle at 2000 RPM. Set A/C controls to outside air, blower speed to high position, temperature control to cool position, A/C switch on and doors fully open (sun roof closed). With intake air temperature about 86-95°F (30-35°C), refrigerant low-side pressure should be about 21-36 psi (1.5-2.5 kg/cm² ) and high-side pressure should be about 199-228 psi (14-16 kg/cm² ). Refrigerant pressures will vary slightly due to intake air temperatures.
