Engine Oil Level Warning Sensor

1. Remove engine oil level warning sensor located on side of oil pan. With sensor temperature less than 104°F (40°C), check for continuity between sensor terminals with sensor float in each position. See Fig 1. Continuity should be present with sensor float down.
2. Heat sensor to greater than 140°F (60°C) in an oil bath. Check for continuity between sensor terminals. Continuity should be present with sensor float in up position. Continuity should not be present with sensor float in down position. If continuity is not as specified, replace sensor.
