Section 575 (Front Door): Disassembly

  1. REMOVE LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH 

    Using a screwdriver, remove the lower frame bracket garnish.

    HINT:

    Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE POWER WINDOW SWITCH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the power window switch as shown in Fig 2 .

      HINT:

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  3. w/ Mark Levin son: REMOVE CENTER SPEAKER 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the center speaker.

      HINT:

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

  4. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL NO. 2 

    Using a screwdriver, remove the door inside handle bezel No.2 as shown in Fig 4 .

    HINT:

    Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

  5. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL NO. 1 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the door inside handle bezel No. 1 as shown in Fig 5 .

      HINT:

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE DOOR COURTESY LIGHT 

    Using a screwdriver, remove the door courtesy light, then disconnect the connector.

    HINT:

    Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the seat memory switch.

      HINT:

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  8. REMOVE DOOR TRIM 
    1. Remove the 2 caps and the 7 screws.
    2. Remove the 3 clips.
    3. Insert a screwdriver between the door and the door trim to pry the trim.

      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the door and the door trim. 

      HINT:

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. Pull the trim upward to remove it.
    5. Using a screwdriver, remove the speaker grille from the door trim.

      HINT:

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

  9. REMOVE INSIDE HANDLE 
    1. Remove the screw and the inside handle.
    2. Disconnect the 2 control cables from the inside handle as shown in Fig 8 .

  10. REMOVE TWEETER SPEAKER 

    Disconnect the connector, then remove the bolt and the tweeter speaker.

  11. REMOVE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR 

    Disconnect the connector, then remove the 3 bolts and the outside rear view mirror.

  12. REMOVE SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    1. Remove the clamps and the wire harness.
    2. Remove the service hole cover.

      NOTE: Do not tear the cover. 

      HINT:

      At the time of reassembly, pull out the 2 control cables and the wire harness through the service hole cover.

  13. REMOVE DOOR BELT MOLDING 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Using a scraper, remove the door belt molding.

      HINT:

      Tape up the scraper tip before use.

  14. REMOVE DOOR GLASS 
    1. Open the door glass until the bolts appear in the service hole.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the door glass.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) 

      NOTE: Do not damage the door glass. 

      HINT:

      Pull the glass upward to remove it.

  15. REMOVE SPEAKER 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and the speaker, then disconnect the connector.
    2. w/ Mark Levinson:

      Remove the 4 screws and the speaker, then disconnect the connector.

  16. REMOVE DOOR GLASS RUN 
  17. REMOVE LOWER FRAME 

    Remove the bolt and the lower frame.

  18. REMOVE WINDOW REGULATOR 
    1. Disconnect the connector, then remove the 5 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) 

    2. Loosen the bolt and the window regulator.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) 

      HINT:

      Remove the regulator through the service hole.

      HINT:

      At the time of reassembly, apply MP grease to the window regulator.

      NOTE: At the time of reassembly, do not apply grease to the spring of the window regulator.

  19. REMOVE DOOR LOCK 
    1. Remove the clip and the door lock link protector.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
    3. Disconnect the 2 links from the outside handle and the door lock cylinder.
    4. Using a Torx wrench, remove the 3 screws and the door lock.

      Tone wrench: T30 (Part No. 09042-00010 or locally manufactured tool) 

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

    HINT:

    Remove the door lock through the service hole.

    HINT:

    At the time of reassembly:

    • Apply adhesive to the 3 screws.

      Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent.

    • Remove the protector, and apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating parts of the door lock.
  20. REMOVE OUTSIDE HANDLE WITH DOOR LOCK CYLINDER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the outside handle with the door lock cylinder.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

    2. Remove the bolt and the door lock cylinder from the outside handle.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
