Section 588 (Wheel & Tire System): Inspection

  1. INSPECT TIRE 
    1. Check the tires for wear and proper inflation pressure.

      Cold tire inflation pressure: 

      COLD TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE SPECIFICATION

      245/40 ZR 18 230 (2.3, 33) (1)
      310 (3.1, 45) (2)
      (1) For driving under 180 km/h (112 mph)

      (2) For driving at 180 km/h (112 mph) or over
    2. Check the tire runout.

      Tire runout: 1.4 mm (0.055 in.) or less

  2. ROTATE TIRE 

    HINT:

    See Fig 2 for where to rotate each tire.

  3. INSPECT WHEEL BALANCE 
    1. Check and adjust off-the-car balance.
    2. If necessary, check and adjust on-the-car balance.

      Unbalance after adjustment: 8.0 g (0.018 Lb) or less

    NOTE:
    • Remove dirt, oil and water from the surface where the balance weight is to be adhered with a cleaning detergent. 
    • Do not touch the sticking surface of the tape. 
    • Adhere the sticking type balance weight to the flat position shown in  Fig 4  . 
    • Push the balance weight securely with a finger to adhere it to the position. 

      (Pushing force: 10 kgf/more than 2 sees.) 

    • Do not reuse balance weight. 
    • Please use the LEXUS genuine sticking type balance weight.

  5. INSPECT AXLE HUB DEVIATION (See  REPLACEMENT  )
