Fuel Injector: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper intake manifold, (Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD )
  3. If the injector connectors are not tagged with their cylinder number, tag them to identify the correct cylinder.
  4. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail (Fig 1 ).

  5. Remove the 4 mounting bolts from the fuel rail (Fig 2 ).

  6. Lift fuel rail straight up off of cylinder head.
  7. Remove retaining clips from fuel injectors at fuel rail.
  8. Remove fuel injector from fuel rail.
