Section 459 (Sliding Roof System): Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE SCUFF PLATES 
  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE SCUFF PLATES 
  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISHES 
  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIMS 
  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIMS 
  8. REMOVE REAR PERSONAL LIGHTS 
  9. REMOVE ASSIST GRIPS 
  10. REMOVE SUN VISORS 
  11. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR COVER 
  12. REMOVE MAP LAMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the lens and cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 4 screws and map lamp assembly.
    3. Disconnect the connectors.

  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, open the cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Remove the front pillar garnish and cover.
    4. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  14. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the center pillar lower garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  15. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the center pillar upper garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  16. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the roof side inner garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 3 screws and roof side inner garnish spacer.
    3. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

  17. REMOVE HOLDERS 

    Remove the 2 screws and 2 holders.

  18. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING 
    1. w/ Sliding roof: Remove the opening trim.
    2. Release the 3 clips and fastener tapes to remove the roof headlining.
    3. Remove the 6 screws and 2 side rail spacers.
  19. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GARNISHES 

    Using a screwdriver, remove the sliding roof garnishes.

    HINT:

    • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
    • Be careful not to scratch the glass or garnishes.

  20. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts.
    2. Pull the glass upward to remove it.

  21. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the 4 clips and disconnect the 4 drain hoses from the housing.
    3. Remove the 12 bolts and 6 brackets.
    4. Remove the 6 nuts and sliding roof housing from the body.
