Instrument Panel (On-Vehicle Service): Disassembly
- REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER DUCT
Remove the screw, then disconnect the side defroster duct as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE NO.2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT
Employ the same manner described in the above step.
- REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the 3 screws and defroster nozzle assembly.
- REMOVE NO.1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT
Remove the 3 screws and No.1 heater to register duct.
- REMOVE NO.2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT
- Remove the 2 screws and center bracket.
- Remove the 2 screws and No.2 heater to register duct.
- REMOVE NO.1 REGISTER
Remove the screw and No.1 register as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE NO.2 REGISTER
Employ the same manner described in the above step.
- REMOVE NO.2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Disengage the wire harness clamps and remove the No.2 instrument panel wire.
- REMOVE SOLAR SENSOR
- REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH SENSOR AND HOLE COVER
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the instrument side panel.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE NO.1 PINS
Remove the 4 screws and No.1 pins.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL END PAD
- Using a heat light, heat the end pad to 20 - 30 °C (68 -86 °F).NOTE: Do not heat the end pad excessively.
- Remove the instrument panel end pad.
HINT:
When replacing end pad, replace with a new one.
- Using a heat light, heat the end pad to 20 - 30 °C (68 -86 °F).
