Inspection Procedure

  1. Check pattern select switch. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Disconnect the pattern select switch connector.

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity between each terminal of pattern select switch connector when the select switch is set to PWR, NORM and SNOW positions.

    OK:

    CONTINUITY SWITCH CONNECTOR

    Switch condition Tester connection Specified condition
    PWR 2 - 4 Continuity
    NORM 2 - 4, 4 - 5 No continuity
    SNOW 4 - 5 Continuity

    If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

    1. NG: Replace pattern select switch. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. Check harness and connector between A/C control assembly and pattern select switch, pattern select switch and body ground (INSPECTION, Connectors, Terminal pins, Wiring Harness (Open or Short Circuits)). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace the harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).
