      1. No key in the ignition key cylinder.
      2. All doors closed (door open indicator off).
      3. All doors locked.
  2. CHECK FUNCTION BY STANDARD OPERATION
    1. Check that the LOCK/UNLOCK switch operation can be performed once more after the operation is repeated 3 times or more in the standard operation.

    HINT:

The standard operation here means to press the transmitter switch for 1 second, facing the transmitter to the vehicle, in 1 m (3.28 ft) away from the driver's door.

    1. OK: NORMAL
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
  3. CHECK TRANSMITTER BATTERY SIMPLY
    1. When the transmitter battery is exchanged for a new or normal one, check that the LOCK/UNLOCK switch operation can be performed once more after the operation is repeated 3 times or more in the standard operation.
    1. OK: REPLACE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
  4. ENTER INTO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE
    1. Enter into the self-diagnostic mode by an operation of the hand-held tester.

    HINT:

    • If the hand-held tester demands to finish the self-diagnostic mode, the system enters into the normal mode.
    • During the self-diagnostic mode, do not carry out the LOCK/UNLOCK operation.
    1. Check that the system has entered into the self-diagnostic mode by the wireless door lock buzzer sound.

    1. NG: Go to step   9
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
  5. CHECK BY SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODE
    1. Inspect the output of the diagnosis when the door control transmitter switch has been kept pressed (The diagnosis output can be checked by the output of the wireless door lock buzzer sound).

    HINT:

    • In case of no diagnosis outputs (wireless door lock buzzer off), go to step NG-A.
    • In case of discord of recognition code (wireless door lock buzzer on), go to step NG-B.
    • In case of a reception of the normal wave of the LOCK/UNLOCK switch (wireless door lock buzzer sounds), go to step OK.
    1. NG-B: Go to step   9
    2. OK: Go to step   10
    3. NG-A
  6. CHECK BASIC OPERATION BY NEW TRANSMITTER
    1. Enters into the self-diagnostic mode by an operation of the hand-held tester.
    2. When a new or normal transmitter switch for the same type of vehicle is operated in the standard operation, check whether a discord of the recognition code is output.

    HINT:

    • Standard operation here means to press the transmitter switch for 1 second, facing the transmitter to the vehicle, in 1 m (3.28 ft) away from the driver's door.
    1. OK: REPLACE TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSY MODULE SET DOOR CONTROL
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
  7. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (THEFT WARNING ECU)
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Enter into the active test using the hand-held tester.

      Standard:

      ACTIVE TEST ITEM REFERENCE

      Item Operation
      Overhead tuner OUTPUT/STOP
    3. During the active test, check that 5 V is input to terminal 5 (+5) of the inner rear view mirror (receiver) (119), using the oscilloscope.

      Standard:

      ACTIVE TEST CONDITIONS

Symbols (Terminal No.) Condition Specified Condition
+5(I19-5) <--> E1 (119-8) During the active test Hz output
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS (wireless receiver +5 - theft warning ECU RCO)
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU <--> WIRELESS DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
    1. Disconnect the connectors of the inner rear view mirror and theft warning ECU.

    2. Check the continuity between the inner rear view mirror connector (119) terminal 5 (+5) and the theft warning ECU connector (T7) terminal 15 (RCO).

      Standard: Continuity

    1. OK: REPLACE TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSY MODULE SET DOOR CONTROL
    2. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS (wireless receiver +5 - theft warning ECU RCO)
  9. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (THEFT WARNING ECU (SWITCH CONDITION))
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Enter into the active test using the hand-held tester.
      1. Check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds by the active test.

      Standard:

    ACTIVE TEST REFERENCE
