With Hand-Held Tester

NOTE: Refer to hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and depress the brake pedal more than 40 times.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Check that the pump stops after approximately 35 seconds. If the pump does not stop, repeat steps  1 and  2.
  3. With the ignition switch still ON, depress the brake pedal more than 20 times.
  4. Bleed the brake lines. See BRAKE LINE .
  5. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
  6. Turn the ignition switch ON and select "AIR BLEEDING" on the hand-held tester.
  7. Select "FR LINE" on the hand-held tester. With vinyl tube and jar connected to right front brake caliper and "FR LINE" turned ON, depress the brake pedal and hold it to bleed the right front brake caliper. Repeat until there are no more air bubbles in the fluid.
  8. Repeat procedure on other three lines. "FL LINE" is front left. "RR LINE" is left and right rear brake calipers.
  9. Disconnect the hand-held tester and clear the DTC. See CLEARING CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
