  3. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION 
    1. Headlight Leveling Control ECU

      HINT: The Headlight Leveling Control ECU performs the fail-safe when detecting troubles listed in Fig 12. At this it lights the warning Indicator light on the combination meter.

      Recovery condition (The warning light goes off.)

      • Ignition switch OFF
      • Ignition switch OFF or signal lever error cancellation

  4. USING HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Hook up the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Monitor the ECU data by following the prompts on the tester screen.

    HINT:

    Hand-held tester has a "Snapshot" function which records the monitored data.

    Please refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.

  5. DTC CLEAR 
    1. The DTCs and freeze frame data will be erased by either action.
      1. Opening the hand-held tester to erase the codes.
      2. Disconnecting the battery terminals or EFI fuse.
    2. After completing repairs, the DTC retained in memory can be cleared by removing the EFI fuse for 1 minutes or more with the ignition switch OFF.
    3. Check that the normal code is displayed after connecting the fuse.
