Section 534 (Sliding Roof System (Inspection)): Inspection

  1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF SWITCH CONTINUITY 
    SWITCH POSITION SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
    SLIDE OPEN 3 - 5 Continuity
    SLIDE OFF - No continuity
    SLIDE CLOSE 3 - 4 Continuity
    TILT DOWN 2 - 3 Continuity
    TILT OFF - No continuity
    TILT UP 1 - 3 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  2. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ASSEMBLY CIRCUIT 

    Disconnect the connector from ECU and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in Fig 2 .

    4 - Ground Sliding roof control switch (TILT) DOWN Continuity
    8 - Ground Ignition switch LOCK or ACC No voltage
    8 - Ground Ignition switch ON Battery positive voltage
    9 - Ground Sliding roof control switch (SLIDE) OFF or CLOSE No continuity
    9 - Ground Sliding roof control switch (SLIDE) OPEN Continuity
    10 - Ground Sliding roof control switch (SLIDE) OFF or OPEN No Continuity
    10 - Ground Sliding roof control switch (SLIDE) CLOSE Continuity
    1 - Ground Constant Continuity
    6 - Ground Constant No continuity
    2 - Ground Ignition switch LOCK or ACC (1)No voltage
    2 - Ground Ignition switch ON Battery positive voltage
    (1) Exceptions: During 45 second after ignition switch ON-->OFF (ACC) or until driver of passenger door in opened after ignition switch ON-->OFF (ACC).

    If circuit is as specified, replace the relay.
