Oil Pump: Installation

  1. Ensure sealing surfaces are clean. Install NEW "O" ring on cylinder block. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant on oil pump body sealing surface, inside of bolt holes.
  2. Install oil pump. Ensure teeth on drive rotor engage with teeth on crankshaft. Install bolts. DO NOT reuse stud bolt. Ensure proper bolts are installed in specified areas. See Fig 1. Tighten all bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Ensure proper bolts are installed in specified areas. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 . Ensure proper oil pan installation procedure is used. See OIL PAN  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Fill engine with oil.
