- INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the steering pad switch assembly.
- Check the continuity between terminal 2 (DIST) and 4 (ECC) of steering pad switch assembly connector when distance control switch is operated.
Standard:
STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY INSPECTING STANDARDSwitch position Specified condition Distance control switch is ON Below 1 Ω Distance control switch is OFF 10 kΩ or higher
HINT:
When a malfunction is found on the distance control switch, replace the steering pad switch assembly.
- NG : REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- OK : Go to next step.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the distance control ECU and the steering pad switch assembly.
- NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK : Go to next step.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
- Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the steering pad switch assembly and body ground.
- NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK : Go to next step.
- INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- Remove the distance control ECU with connector.
- Ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage between terminal MODE (D2-16) of the distance control ECU and body ground, when distance control switch is operated.
Standard:
INSPECTION STANDARDSwitch position Voltage Distance control switch is ON Below 1 V Distance control switch is OFF 10 to 14 V
- NG : REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY, see REPLACEMENT .
- OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
