    2. Check the continuity between terminal 2 (DIST) and 4 (ECC) of steering pad switch assembly connector when distance control switch is operated.

      Standard:

STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY INSPECTING STANDARD

      Switch position Specified condition
Distance control switch is ON Below 1 Ω
Distance control switch is OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    HINT:

When a malfunction is found on the distance control switch, replace the steering pad switch assembly.

    1. NG : REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
    2. OK : Go to next step.
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
    1. Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the distance control ECU and the steering pad switch assembly.
    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
    2. OK : Go to next step.
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
    1. Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the steering pad switch assembly and body ground.
    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
    2. OK : Go to next step.
  4. INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
    1. Remove the distance control ECU with connector.
    2. Ignition switch ON.
    3. Measure the voltage between terminal MODE (D2-16) of the distance control ECU and body ground, when distance control switch is operated.

      Standard:

      INSPECTION STANDARD

      Switch position Voltage
Distance control switch is ON Below 1 V
