Inspection Procedure

HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 in the case of using the hand-held tester, and start from step 2 in the case of not using the hand-held tester.
- READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
- Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the hand-held tester.
BODY NO. 1:

- INSPECT COURTESY LAMP SWITCH
- Inspect each of the courtesy lamp switch continuity (See INSPECTION ).
- NG: REPLACE COURTESY LAMP SWITCH
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY
- Inspect the courtesy lamp switch terminal of the back door lock assy (See INSPECTION ).
- NG: REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the 1P, B7 and B9 connector from the instrument panel junction block assy.
- Check the continuity between each of the terminals of instrument panel junction block assy connector side and body ground as shown in Fig 1
.

- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (BACK DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT)
- Measure voltage between the terminal B7-25 of the multiplex network body ECU and body ground.
Standard:
MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU AND BODY GROUNDTester connection Condition Specified condition B7-25 - Body ground Back door is open Below 1 V B7-25 - Body ground Back door is closed 10 to 14 V

- Measure voltage between the terminal B7-25 of the multiplex network body ECU and body ground.
