Inspection Procedure

NOTE:

Even though the terminal TC is not connected with terminal E1, the MIL blinks.
For the above phenomenon, an open or short in the wire harness, or malfunction inside the ECM is likely.

Check voltage between terminals TC and E1 of DLC1.

PREPARATION:

Turn the ignition switch ON.

CHECK:

Measure the voltage between terminals TC and E1 of the DLC3.

OK:

Voltage: 9 to 14 V
1. OK: Go to step 3 .
2. NG: Go to Next Step
Check continuity between terminal E1 of DLC1 and body ground.
1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
2. OK: Go to next step.
Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between ECM and DLC1 (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
2. OK: Go to next step.
  Replace ECM (See ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) ).
