Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector of shift lock control unit assy.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in Fig 2 below.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH-BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 4 below.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Measure resistance between each terminal of shift lock control unit assy when the shift lever is moved to each position.

      Standard:

    1. NG: REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH (SEE  FLOOR SHIFT ASSY  ) 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH - ECM) 
    1. Connect the transmission control switch connector of lock control unit assy.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and measure the voltage according to the value(s) in Fig 8 below when the shift lever is moved to each position.

      Standard:

    3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
    4. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 10 below when the shift lever is moved to each position.

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   )
