Inspection Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lexus RX 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
- When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed (See ADJUSTMENT ).
- When the laser sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the laser sensor beam axis must be performed (See ADJUSTMENT ).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - LASER SENSOR)
- Disconnect the distance control ECU connector and laser sensor connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE TABLETester Connection Condition Specified Condition D2-23 (LRRD) - L1-4 (LRRD) Always Below 1 Ω D2-13 (IGB) - L1-5 (IGB) Always Below 1 Ω, D2-23 (LRRD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher D2-13 (IGB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
- Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE TABLETester Connection Condition Specified Condition D2-13 (IGB) - Body ground Ignition switch on 10 to 14 V
NG: REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK LASER SENSOR
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE TABLETester Connection Condition Specified Condition L1-5 (IGB) - Body ground Ignition switch on 10 to 14 V - Check the signal waveform between terminal LRRD (B9-4) of the laser sensor and body ground.
OK:
A waveform similar to that is output.
HINT:
- Gauge set: 2 V/DIV., 5 ms./DIV.
- Condition: Ignition switch on
NG: REPLACE LASER SENSOR
OK: END (INTERMITTENT PROBLEM IS PRESENT)
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
