Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT AFS OFF SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the AFS OFF switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified resistance
      1 - 2 AFS OFF switch is pushed Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 AFS OFF switch is not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE AFS OFF SWITCH 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  2. INSPECT AFS ECU 
    1. Disconnect the AFS ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      A14-4 - Body ground AFS OFF switch is pushed Below 1 Ω
      A14-4 - Body ground AFS OFF switch is not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
