Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 when not using the intelligent tester.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER
- Connect the intelligent tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the intelligent tester main switch ON.
- Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the relay operates.

- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- INSPECT DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY NO.3 (DRL NO. 3 RELAY)
- Inspect DRL relay continuity.
- Check the resistance between the each of the terminals as shown in the table below.

- Check the resistance between the each of the terminals as shown in the table below.
NG: REPLACE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY NO.3
OK: Go to Next step
- Inspect DRL relay continuity.
- CHECK MODE MONITOR TERMINAL (DRL NO. 2, DRL NO. 4 RELAY)
- Preparation
- Connect the connector.
- Remove the cover of the fusible link block assembly.
- Set the vehicle to the following condition.
- Ignition switch ON.
- Headlight dimmer switch HI (FLASH).
- Light control switch ON.
- Check voltage
B: Go to step 13
A: Go to Next step
- Preparation
- INSPECT JUNCTION BLOCK NO.2 (DRL NO. 2, DRL NO. 4 RELAY)
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
- Remove the J/B No. 2.
- Inspect the DRL No. 2 relay.

- Connect the positive battery lead to terminal +B of the J/B No. 2 and the negative lead to terminal SGND, PGND.ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS AND SYMBOLS SPECIFIED CONDITION

- Disconnect the connectors from the instrument panel J/B.

Reconnect the J/B No. 2 connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Remove the DRL No.3 relay from the relay block No.3.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- CHECK MODE MONITOR TERMINAL (SHORT CIRCUIT DRIVEN SIDE BY RELAY)
- Connect the connectors.
- Remove the headlight bulbs.
- Ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage
B: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
A: REPLACE BULB
- CHECK MODE MONITOR TERMINAL (DIM RELAY)
- Preparation
- Connect the connector.
- Remove the cover of the fusible link block assembly.
- Set the vehicle to the following condition.
- Ignition switch ON.
- Headlight dimmer switch HI (FLASH).
- Light control switch ON.
- Check voltage

A: Go to Next step
- Preparation
- INSPECT JUNCTION BLOCK NO.2 (DIM RELAY)
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
- Remove the J/B No. 2.
- Inspect the DRL relay.
